Whitening

Whitening

Tooth whitening is not actually a new procedure, but it is a newly-popular one. Sometimes inaccurately referred to as “bleaching”, the teeth have a carbamide peroxide & hydrogen peroxide gel applied to them. That gel is either light-activated with our Iveri Whitening system or allowed to bathe the teeth using take-home trays with our NiteWhite® or DayWhite® systems. In-office whitening can be done in two or three 15-minute light/gel applications during a single appointment. Home whitening consists of gel placed in custom-made trays by the patient daily for one or two weeks.

Is it safe?

Whitening is safe and with professional guidance, no damage should occur to the oral structures. The only side effect might be slightly sensitive teeth for a few days.

How long does it last?

How long the bleaching lasts will depend on the habits of the patient. We encourage a “white diet” for one week after whitening. You should refrain from smoking, drinking tea, coffee, colas or red wine during this period. Proper dental hygiene will also lengthen the time between bleaching sessions.

Using any of these methods, in a short time, you will have a brighter smile!
