An indispensable part of our team, our certified dental assistants play an important role in keeping our daily routine running smoothly.
We have two full-time assistants, Dawn and Mary. Their primary role is to interact with our patients by first greeting them, escorting them into a treatment room and then assisting the dentists during the procedure. They set up treatment rooms before appointments and, ensure proper sterilization of our instruments. Both Dawn and Mary are termed “Level 2 Assistants” which means that they have been trained to carry out certain procedures on patients. Placing rubber dams, taking impressions of teeth, taking x-rays, and polishing teeth are some examples of the extra duties that they perform from time to time.
We are fortunate to have a third assistant with us, Josephine, who works with us twice a week. Her role is similar to that of Dawn and Mary but she acts as a “floater” assistant where she assists each of the dentists throughout the day. Josephine is also responsible for making sure our clinic is stocked with all the supplies we need.
Over the years, many of our patients have developed a friendly rapport with our assistants. Since they are the first to greet you, and spend some time with you before or after the dentist is in the treatment room, there is the chance to get to know each other. Dawn, Mary and Josephine are very warm and kind individuals and will go the extra mile to ensure your comfort.
